Goldenboy joins The Rentals on US Summer tour

After several extensive tours on the West Coast in support of their sophomore album Underneath The Radio (EenieMeenie Records), the gang around Shon Sullivan is slated to join seminal neo new wave pioneers The Rentals on all of their US summer dates.

Goldenboy front man, Shon Sullivan, who will also be featured as special guest on The Rentals’ set says: “We have been friends for so long, so this is really a dream come true.”

Goldenboy will be on board right form the start when The Rentals kick things off at the end of June with several intimate warm-up dates on the West Coast culminating in a residency at LA’s famed Spaceland, every Saturday in July.

The band’s 2003 debut album “Blue Swan Orchestra” quickly became a favorite of famed music director Nic Harcourt of KCRW, making his list of top 10 favorite albums of all time. Their song “Summertime,” which featured guest vocals by Elliott Smith, also found it’s way into HBO’s hit series “Six Feet Under”. The band supported “Blue Swan Orchestra” by going on the road with such well know acts as Bright Eyes, Neil Finn, The Church, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks and Grandaddy.

We have three new videos worth checking out featuring songs from Goldenboy's first release "Blue Swan Orchestra". Appearing on the PBS national tv show, "Sound Affects" presented by KOCE, Goldenboy performs Wild Was The Night. Performing Babydoll with the Neil Finn Band. And a music video for Kittens Of Lust directed and produced by Clark Jackson.

We are glad to say Eenie Meenie Records has released Goldenboy's second album "Underneath the Radio" in stores NOW. Goldenboy's Shon Sullivan and Bryan Bos have completed twelve songs for this release. With special guests, Neil Finn, Lisa Germano, Sebastian Steinberg, Scott McPherson, Matt Sharp, David J. Carpenter and Phil Jordan. Just in time for the seasons to come. Check out samples from Underneath the Radio. This is the new home and site of the Diamond Bar based band Goldenboy. We welcome you and are excited you have joined us. Eenie Meenie Records has released the second Goldenboy cd "Underneath the Radio". Soon the touring will begin. This site will be updated regulary so be sure to check back to find out what's up and next. Goldenboy will perform an Eenie Meenie Record Showcase at the Velvet Spade Patio in Austin Texas during this years SXSW. We invite you to join us Wednesday, March 15th (2006). Goldenboy will be performing with Irving and Oranger. A second SXSW Goldenboy showcase at the Shoal Creek Saloon, Saturday, March 18th 2:00 pm, with I Love Math.

Shon and Bryan team up with Matt Sharp (Weezer, The Rentals) for a U.S. Tour september - november and a Europe Tour november - january (performing in London, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain (spain - opening eight dates with Mathew Sweet).

This summer, Shon joined The Eels for a world tour with a visit to the Tonight show with Jay Leno June 5th, and an appearence with Craig Kilborn on June 10th.

Music from "Blue Swan Orchestra" is featured in the HBO dramatic series...... SIX FEET UNDER

On March 30, HBO's SIX FEET UNDER will feature the track "Summertime" in episode 31, 3rd season (when Olivier laments his lost love Astra to Claire as they continue to drive to the mall). Goldenboy will also perform live at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on April 29 and at Club Congress in Tuscon, AZ on April 30. Both dates will be with Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks.

Shon joined Neil Finn and his band for a North American Tour with a stop on the Conan O'Brian show

Neil Finn and his band has Shon join them for a North American Tour in late January and February with a stop on the Conan O'Brian show on January 31, as well as some solo Goldenboy dates during this tour in New York City January 30 at the Knitting Factory, and in Seattle February 16 at the Showbox Green Room.
